Editorial policy

Each factual statement about a tool is recorded with its source, a link to that source, and the date we read it. Those details travel with the value wherever it appears on the site. If we cannot source a claim, we do not make it — the value reads “Not stated” instead.

Almost everything on this site is what vendors state about themselves. We say so plainly on every page rather than implying hands-on experience we do not have. A small number of values — watermark behaviour on the pre-purchase preview, a few unpublished prices confirmed at checkout — we checked ourselves, and those are marked verified.

You will not find a sentence on this site beginning “we tested” unless we did. That distinction is the only thing separating an independent directory from a page of affiliate copy.

The order of the directory is an editorial judgment. We do not attach numeric scores, star ratings or “Editor’s Choice” badges to it, and we do not put rating markup into the page’s structured data. Dressing a judgment up as a measurement misleads readers about how much work went into it.

Ratings published by third parties are shown with the platform named and the review count attached, so you can weigh them yourself. We did not collect them.

There are no fabricated testimonials, user quotes or author personas on this site. Any person credited here is a real person.

This category has a fraud-adjacent tail and we stay out of it. We do not write about, optimise for, or link to content framed around falsified income documents, novelty documents, or deceiving a landlord, lender or employer.

Generating a pay stub that records income you actually earned is ordinary record-keeping. Producing a document that overstates income to obtain credit, housing or a benefit is fraud, and it carries real legal consequences for the person who does it. We will decline any request to help with the second.

Pay stubs touch tax and payroll, which is territory where bad information does real damage. We describe what these tools do; we do not tell you what to withhold. Nothing here is tax or legal advice. Where we reference a rule, we cite the primary source — the IRS or a state labor department — rather than a vendor’s summary of it.

We are not a paystub vendor. Readers pay us nothing. Any revenue comes from referral links, which are labelled where they exist and disclosed on the page carrying them. No vendor pays for inclusion, for placement, or to change what we record about them. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

We correct errors and update stale figures rather than quietly leaving them. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will check it against the vendor’s own page. Our methodology sets out how the data is collected and how often it is refreshed.
